Course Description
This Tennis Coaches Training course, recognised by Tennis Ireland, aims to provide students with the coaching skills to meet the ever increasing demands for coaching in clubs, schools and colleges through the Tennis Ireland Coaching Certificate. Successful graduates will be fully qualified Level 1 Coaches and may be able to advance to the ITB Sports Management and Coaching Degree Course.
Through the Higher Education Link Scheme (HELS), the course provides a progression opportunity for learners to the first year of many sports and health related higher education courses offered through the Central Applications Office (CAO).
Course Content
Modules taught on this course include:
- Sports & Recreation Studies – Level 5
- Sports Anatomy & Physiology – Level 5
- Exercise and Fitness – Level 5
- Work Experience – Level 5
- Communications – Level 5
- Personal Effectiveness – Level 5
- Safety & Health at work – Level 5
- Teamworking – Level 4
- Tennis – Assistant 1 – Level 4
Whilst the following are optional:
- Tennis Ireland Assistant 1 & Assistant 2
- Tennis Ireland Level 1
Entry Requirements
This Local Training Initiative (LTI) is open to unemployed persons aged between 18 and 35 years with no formal qualifications, or incomplete second level qualifications. Applications from those aged over 35 will also be considered. A selection interview will apply and interested applicants should contact the Coordinator.
