Course Description
The aim of this programme is provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and competencies to use a wide range of software applications on a computer and achieve a worldwide recognised qualification in computing. The new ECDL programme offers a greater range of modules and provide a practical programme of up-to-date skills and knowledge areas which are validated by a test. There is now a choice of at least 11 ECDL modules instead of the previous 7 and the 3 year limit on completing ECDL has been removed. Once candidates register once they have a skills card for life and they can add additional modules to their skills card over time.

Employability Statement
On successful completion of this programme applicants will be able to use a wide range of software applications on a personal computer and source employment in a range of clerical/administrative positions in both the IT and other sectors.

Entry Requirements
- Applicants must have reached the current statutory school leaving age
- Course participants must have completed the Introduction to Computers, Preparation for ECDL or an equivalent course which included basic computer skills
- Good numerical and literacy skills are essential
- Good written and verbal communications skills are desirable
