IT Systems Support & Networking Technician (offering CompTIA A+ & Network+ Certification)

This is a highly practical course which focuses on providing participants with the knowledge, skills, theoretical understanding and practical competencies which are required in order to install, configure, support and troubleshoot computer hardware and operating systems software in the context of wireless and wired network infrastructure.
The course will aim to develop learners technical ability, skills, attitudes, personal effectiveness and job seeking skills.
Course content will follow the curricula for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1101) & A+ Core 2 (220-1102) and CompTIA Network Plus N10-009 courses
The CompTIA A+ certification validates foundational IT skills, covering hardware, software, networking, security, and troubleshooting. It requires passing two exams: Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102), which cover topics like mobile devices, networking, hardware, virtualization, cloud computing, operating systems, security, software troubleshooting, and operational procedures
The CompTIA Network+ certification validates the knowledge and skills needed to troubleshoot, configure, and manage both wired and wireless networks. It covers a broad range of topics including networking fundamentals, infrastructure, operations, security, and troubleshooting. The latest version of the exam, N10-009, includes multiple-choice and performance-based questions across five domains: Networking Fundamentals, Network Implementations, Network Operations, Network Security, and Network Troubleshooting
The course also includes a 12 week relevant work placement. Students will be expected to source this placement themselves and will be facilitated with time during the course to do so
