Course Description

This is a full-time training programme for members of the Traveller Community and offering community and adult basic education. The aim of the training programme is provide participants with the education and skills to progress onto further education or into employment.

Course Content

The core modules provided are:

• Communications
• Mathematics
• Computer literacy
• Personal effectiveness

Other courses are also available.

A QQI Component Certificate (Minor Award) at Level 4 is awarded to candidates who successfully complete one or more modules. A full QQI Certificate (Major Award) at Level 4 is awarded on completion of 8 modules.

Entry Requirements

This Local Training Initiative (LTI) is primarily open to unemployed persons (members of the travelling community) aged between over 18 and 35 years. Applicants seeking entry to the programme must have achieved a minimum of a FETAC level 3 Major award or equivalent prior to entry. A selection interview will apply.
