Aircraft Maintenance Technician Traineeship – EASA Part-66 Category A1

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician Traineeship is intended for those who are interested in developing a career in aircraft maintenance. This two-year traineeship technicians course is designed to fulfil the basic theoretical training and practical experience requirements to apply for an EASA Part 66 Category A1 license.

Graduates who successfully complete training and who attain the EASA Part 66 Category A1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence will be certified as competent to safely complete minor scheduled line maintenance and simple defect rectification on turbine-engined airplanes.

The course is provided in conjunction with our partners Atlantic Aviation Group, Dublin Aerospace Limited and Ryanair, with classroom and practical training delivered onsite at the City of Dublin FET College, Northwest Campus, Jamestown Road (formerly known as Finglas Training Centre) and on-the-job aircraft practical training for this class intake, provided by Dublin Aerospace Limited in their maintenance and repair facility at Dublin Airport.

Please note this is not the Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship and those who may be interested in pursuing an apprenticeship should apply directly to the hosting company.

This course is scheduled to start in March 2026

Non-native English speakers should have a minimum level of B2 English.

Work Experience Schedule Notice
Trainees undertaking work experience with a host company are expected to complete a 39-hour working week.
Working hours will follow the normal operating schedule of the particular host company.
This may include the requirement to work shift patterns and night-time hours, depending on the nature of the business.
