This is a full-time, one-year training programme for members of the Traveller Community.

The aim of the programme is to provide participants with the education and skills to progress onto further education, apprenticeships or into employment.

The programme is funded by City of Dublin Education and Training Board and is open to male and female participants, primarily unemployed members of the Traveller community, between the ages of 16-35.

The training programme is learner directed. Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

The programme leads to QQI full level 4 Award in General Learning. Achievement of this award will enable the learner to progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications.
