DIGITAL SKILLS FOR THE MODERN OFFICE
Programme Aims
The aim of this programme is provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and competencies to use a wide range of software applications on a computer and achieve a worldwide recognised qualification in computing.
Three certification paths are offered in the Digital Skills classroom.
– The ICDL programme offers a range of modules and provides a practical programme of up-to-date skills and knowledge areas which are validated by a test. Once candidates register, they have a skills card for life and they can add additional modules to their skills card over time. ICDL is designed to help learners build the digital skills to prepare them for positions in the modern workplace. These modules will help employees and candidates demonstrate their effective use of technology with skills and knowledge that can be further developed by progressing to the ICDL Professional modules and beyond.
– The Microsoft Office Specialist programme offers learners the opportunity to gain internationally recognised certifications in Microsoft Office applications, enhancing their skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more. This course is an advanced level course and empowers individuals to increase their productivity, boost their career prospects, and confidently demonstrate proficiency in essential office software used in today’s workplace.
– The Microsoft Office Expert programme offers learners advanced training and certification, focusing on mastering the most sophisticated features of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other key applications. This programme is ideal for those aiming to achieve the prestigious Microsoft Office Specialist Master certification, demonstrating a high level of expertise and the ability to handle complex tasks. Learners will gain in-depth knowledge, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and position themselves as top-tier professionals, ready to tackle advanced challenges in any workplace.
Requirements
• Applicants must have reached the current statutory school leaving age
• No formal educational qualifications are required
• Learners must have proven computer knowledge at an introductory level
• Learners must be motivated to learn on their own
Employability Statement
On successful completion of these programmes, applicants will possess accreditation which validates their ability to use a wide range of software applications in a computer environment. This will help them find employment in a range of clerical and administrative positions in IT and other sectors.
