Invest In Your Future – A Clerical Administration Training Programme

Overview:
The course blends personal development, career guidance, certified QQI training (Levels 3–5), and practical work placement to boost confidence, build employability skills, and support progression into further education or employment. Free to eligible participants, with ongoing one-to-one mentoring and potential training allowances available.
This course is delivered through Ballymun Job Centre in partnership with City of Dublin FET College Northwest Campus, Jamestown Road (formerly Finglas Finglas Training Centre) and intended to support unemployed individuals who wish to develop their skills and pursue career opportunities in an office or administrative environment.
The course combines personal development, career guidance, accredited training, and practical work experience to help unemployed individuals build self-confidence, strengthen employability skills, explore career pathways, and take positive steps toward further education, training, or employment.
Students who successfully complete this course often go on to secure full-time positions in clerical and administrative roles. The skills and experience gained throughout the programme providing them with the confidence and capability to succeed in a professional office setting. Many graduates are now working across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and local government.
Objectives:

- To offer one-to-one guidance and mentoring throughout
Key Components:
- Personal Development: Confidence building, communication, self-awareness
- Career Planning: CV preparation, job searching skills, interview techniques
- Accredited Training: Selection of QQI modules at Level 5, including office administration, customer service, workplace safety, ICDL and more
- Work Placement: Supervised placement with local employers or organisations
- Ongoing Support: Individual mentoring, career coaching, and progression planning
Eligibility:
- Must be aged 18 or over
- Currently unemployed and not in full-time education
- Registered with Intreo or a Local Employment Service
- Motivated to progress into training, education, or employment
Duration & Format:
- 40 weeks full-time inclusive of work placement
- Combination of classroom-based learning, group activities, and on-the-job experience
Cost:
- Free to eligible participants
- Participants may be entitled to a training allowance (depending on individual circumstances)
