Employment Opportunities

Many jobs now entail the use of technology. This requirement continues to grow, even in sectors considered traditional or non-technical. Online tools and mobile apps today perform a huge range of functions which were once paper-based.
The workplace is digital, and in today’s competitive environment, employers highly value digital skills. Having the certified ability to use devices and tools confidently and productively is an effective way for workers to set themselves apart.

ICDL is designed to build the digital skills of the modern workplace. These modules will help employees and candidates demonstrate their effective use of technology with skills and knowledge that can be further developed by progressing to the ICDL Professional modules and beyond.

Whilst ICDL is at a foundation level, Microsoft Office Specialist is the intermediary level. Completing these modules shows potential employers that the learner has commitment to tackle the more difficult challenges in the workplace. By certifying in the Microsoft Specialist modules, the learner will be much more comfortable using Microsoft's suite of productivity tools.

Completing the MOS Expert modules shows that the learner is competitive and able for the toughest challenges in the workplace. Becoming certified in the Microsoft Word Specialist, Microsoft Excel Specialist and any two of PowerPoint, Outlook or Access Specialist, followed by successful completion of Microsoft Word Expert and Microsoft Excel Expert results in being awarded the Microsoft Office Specialist Master Award by the Microsoft Organisation.
